You are the womb. You are the grave. You are the gap!

Question:

The gap is always there as the background ‘NOW’. It is on this background ‘NOW’ that the Vichara or the flow arises. If, instead of indulging in story-creation, I catch the Vichara at its peak and watch it dissolve, I will naturally fall into the gap until the next Vichara arises, per the script.

Answer:

Don’t try to catch the Vichara at all, especially at its peak, where its hypnotism is the strongest. Just be aware of the peak of an arising.

    • When an emotional outburst, whether of joy or anger, is at its peak, it is wise to stay at a distance, simply observing as the dispassionate Witness.
    • When the mind is racing with thoughts, wholesome or unwholesome, it is wise to stay at a distance, simply observing as the dispassionate Witness.
    • When the body restlessness and discomfort are at their peak, it is wise to stay at a distance, simply observing as the dispassionate Witness.

What is, IS! It is, anyway, not in one’s control. If you have recognized the futility of the Waking as but a Dream, you can stay away, discarding it all.

    • Staying at a distance means pure witnessing without indulging.
    • Staying at a distance means pure witnessing without reacting.
    • Staying at a distance means pure witnessing without personalizing.

Just staying at a distance makes the arising disappear at its designated time without prolonging the misery.

Where does the arising disappear into? It dies into that from which it was born. The gap of NOTHINGNESS is that womb and grave. You are the womb. You are the grave. You are the gap!

    • Staying at a distance means BEING the gap.

The arising does not know the gap. But the gap knows the arising. Stay at a distance! You will realize yourself as the gap itself. Don’t quit until you see! Attempt to SEE, no intellectualization, no analysis. SEE now.

These words rise and fall.

The gap thrusts a wiper that wipes them away.

Focus on the gap, not the arising, and there you go…

You will find yourself as the GAP!

Be the GAP!
