Who takes the vows of purity if there is no Waker?

Question:

Ektaji, in the Buddhadvaita retreats, who takes the vows? Is the Waker taking the vows, then Turiya recognizing itself as separate from the Waker, and releasing itself?

Answer:

Let’s dive deeper into some essential self-inquiry questions.

Can the Waker’s body, a mere sensation-arising, commit a mistake?
Can the Waker’s mind, a mere thought-arising, commit an error?
Can the Waker’s mind, a mere feeling-arising, commit an error?
If the Waker existed independently, it could manage to take the vow. But it is only a temporary arising. How can that which temporarily appears and disappears manage to take a vow or follow it through?
Can Turiya, by itself, make an error?
Can Turiya, by itself, take a vow to rectify an error?
Does Turiya, by itself, have the power to take a vow?
How can that which cannot see, smell, hear, taste, touch, or think make an error and later take the vow to rectify it?

Then, whose error is it? Who commits the mistake?
Turiya itself is an objectified desire to exist. It is the ‘I-thought’ that is afraid to stand by itself, hence it falsely identifies with a temporary arising, and assumes to be ‘this’ and ‘that. Turiya, wearing the Waker’s mask, is the illusory identification.
The illusory identification with the Waker commits the error.
The illusory identification with an action-arising commits the error.
The illusory identification with a thought-arising commits the error.
The illusory identification with a feeling-arising commits the error.
The illusory identification with an experience-arising commits the error.
The illusory identification with a sensation-arising commits the error.

If Turiya existed alone by itself, devoid of false identifications, there would be no errors and no need for vows.

Who takes the Vows?

Neither Turiya alone nor the Waker alone can take the vow. In Reality, Waker-masked Turiya takes the vows.
When Turiya realizes it is merely pretending to be the Waker, its primary vow is to quit pretending to be the Waker.
When Turiya realizes it is merely pretending to be the liar, it takes the vow to quit pretending to be the liar.
When Turiya realizes it is merely pretending to be angry, it takes the vow to quit pretending to be angry.
When Turiya realizes it is merely pretending to be passionate, it takes the vow to quit pretending to be passionate.
When Turiya realizes it is merely pretending to be greedy,  it takes the vow to quit pretending to be greedy.
When Turiya realizes it is merely pretending to be jealous,  it takes the vow to quit pretending to be jealous.
When Turiya realizes it is merely pretending to be arrogant, it takes the vow to quit pretending to be arrogant.
When Turiya attempts to stand at a distance from the Waker and refrain from jumping in, an inward revolution occurs. Be it a fleeting glimpse, but the ‘I-thought’ dissolves. That dissolution reveals that all is but knowledge.
Are you able to see that all is only knowledge?
Are you able to see that there is nothing happening in reality?
Are you able to see that it is all but a dream taken too seriously by You-the-Turiya?
Is there a realization that there is no point in taking it too seriously, as no one comes out of it alive?

Keep walking the path until you reach the Highest Seeing of everything being simply knowledge! Keval Gnyana!

Ekta didi I sometime get this feeling that the reality is too complex. Why all this complexity of Turya, the waker and the Wailer masked Turya.
By any means this is not a negative comment or question. I sincerely want to know.

It’s not complex at all. Just those words had to be invented because going beyond the mind, the language of the mind falls short dear. When you get tired of all the complexities of thw world that keep you occupied at the moment, and a natural inward turning happens, you will see that you are Turiya not Arun. Keep chugging!

Very well explained. All the words and generators of those words (identities) are anyway the creation of the mind which is powered by Turiya. Alone Turiya is just and always Sat Chit Ananda as long as it doesn’t become the mind and takes the identities.
