The peace of deep sleep without losing consciousness

Question:
Namaste Ektaji, 🙏 does the term ‘Flow’ refer to both the Universal Power running the apparent Universe, and Jagrut sushupti? When I go with the will of the Universal Intelligence (ie, be with reality as it is), then I will be in the state of Jagrut Sushupti.

Answer:
Jagrut Sushupti means Awakened Sleep, dear. It is the stage of realization of Turiya Consciousness.

Turiya awakens and accepts that it must now quit pretending to be the Deep Sleep Consciousness (Pragya) sometimes, the Dream Consciousness (Taijasaa) sometimes, and the Waking Consciousness (Vishwaa) sometimes. It acknowledges that it has always been the fourth; it was never the first, the second, or the third. It was pretending to be something other than what it truly was. It now stands at the periphery as the witness of the first, the second, and the third. That which dances centerstage continues, while Turiya stands dispassionately at a distance, not indulging nor rejecting.

The Flow is the inexhaustible chain of impressions or Samskaras consistently shuttling between the manifestations of Waking, Dream, and the Deep Sleep arisings, performing center-stage. These are now seen as an illusion that appears and disappears, like a dream tiger, never born, never died, simply dream-like mirages.

When Turiya stands quietly devoid of illusion, it naturally turns inward, seeking its true identity. The softness and the bliss of the inner nobodyness draw Turiya into itself, like a sponge absorbs water. Turiya [the fourth] merges into Turiyatita [beyond the fourth].

So, in short, when Turiya recognizes that it is not the FLOW of arisings but the BEYOND, it is Awakened even in so-called sleep. That is Jagrut Sushupti – Awakened Sleep.

Question:
Thank you, Ektaji. Is there a higher Intelligence that controls the generation of arisings from Samskaras (within the illusion)?

Answer:
Yes dear, that’s the power of Brahman itself, called Maaya. It generates:

    • the sequence of the arising,
    • the time of sprouting of the arisings,
    • the duration of the arising, and
    • the cessation point of the arising.

This is the projecting power of Maaya.

In essence. turning away from the dream tiger begets liberation from fear. Once liberated, one may again turn back to the tiger, but now fearlessness trumps, knowing that it is a mere illusion. This is called Awakening. Even though one may be turned toward the Waking, Dreaming, and Sleeping Worlds, they are seen as mere illusions, and cannot be fooled by them anymore. It is conscious awareness combined with the stillness of deep sleep. It is the experience of blissful, non-reactive wakefulness, similar to the peace of deep sleep but without losing consciousness, hence termed as Jagrut Sushupti or Awakened Sleep.
