Observation in Waking, Dreaming, and Sleeping reveal the difference between spontaneous flow and deliberate desire

Question:

Didi, I got a glimpse where I realized that ‘I’ am not projecting this world. The desire is a force itself. I think that ‘I like this’; it is a force in itself. There is nothing that I am doing, thinking, or feeling. There is no one here. Only forces are playing.  Aren’t Vichara and Vaasana both forces themselves?  Please guide Didi.

Answer:

Let’s dive deeper.

The world itself is a web of forces from internal attractions and repulsions to external forces of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch objects. The forces are constantly arising (+), subsiding (-), and balancing themselves. The world is simply layers and layers of seeking. The urge to seek in consciousness makes the world appear. That is called Vichara, it is the spontaneous flow of the forces.

    • Vichara is the only natural force that appears and disappears spontaneously, randomly, devoid of an operator.
    • Vasana is unnatural. Vasana means desire. It is deliberate, calculated, rehearsed, and contrived.
    • Vichara is the natural flow of perceptions, sensations, thoughts, and feelings that are known only after they arise.
    • Vasana is clearly known before. Vasana is a projection born of the internal forces of attraction and repulsion.

Experiment with projection and see how the subtle thought [Vichara] is grabbed onto and then projected at the gross manifestation level [Vasana].

The Witness Consciousness has the freewill to look for the answer to the question, ‘Who am I?’ In the mind-manufactured glimpse of the totality, don’t take away that freewill. Consciousness cannot be bound by its own Maaya. The Witness has the option to illusorily bind itself. The Witness has the option to illusorily set itself free. But Illusion is not actual bondage nor actual freedom.

This is apparent in Swapna Nidra Gnyana Sadhana.

Emerging out of the Deep Sleep absence:

    • In its search for the answer to the question, ‘Who am I?’, the Witness first assumes itself to be a dream character. That temporary projection does not satisfy its quest. A dream character appears and disappears quite quickly.
    • The Witness fails to find its answer to the question, ‘Who am I?’ It sets itself free of the transient dream character but continues its search for the answer to the question.

Then the Witness Consciousness starts projecting with even more force.

    • That is how the Waker is projected. The Waker is the projected body-mind. The body-mind is not the Witness. It does not exist. It is a mere temporary projection. That which does not exist cannot project. It can only be projected. So, the body-mind is a Vasana.
    • The Witness Consciousness is the one that assumes ‘I am the body-mind’. That is the first Waking projection. Remember, the Witness is looking for the answer to the question, ‘Who am I?’ The Waker is the projection, not the projector, dear. Every projection is the Vasana.
    • Whatever ‘I like’ and ‘I dislike’, Waking wave arises, it is the multiplication of the Waker-projection or Vasana. I-the-waker like this. I-the-waker think this. I-the-waker do this. I-the-waker experience this.
    • The Waking world of objects of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch is the next projection.

The practice of mere observation of Waking, Dreaming, and Deep Sleep reveals that Asmita, Mamata, Karta, and Bhogta are all offshoots of Vasana in the Waking and Dream. When withdrawn from, the Witness can balance on the rope and be centered on the rope. At that moment, there is only Vichara, the natural flow. This is possible in Waking, Dream, and Deep Sleep. To dive deeper, start practicing Swapna Nidra Gnyana Sadhana. This seeing is the crux of the Sadhana.
