Mind is a dead thought. It is the object of Memory. It is not the subject.

Question:

If the waker collapses and the stand of the witness is taken, then who is recalling the memory of the dream, whose memory is it? Isn’t memory recalling a function of the mind? Isn’t memory just past thoughts being recalled in the present? Does this memory of the dream belong to the witness? Where is the memory of ‘witness collapsing’ coming from?

Answer:

The thought of the memory arising is a new arising in the NOW. Memory is only a label; the past can never arise in the NOW. The NOW is ever new.

There is nothing like the mind; there is only a thought. The thought arises and disappears. In hindsight, the witness labels it as a memory of a past event or a current happening. But when the thought arises, the thought peaks, the thought dissipates, there is no label of past, or the present, or the future that accompanies it.

All memories are only stories woven together by the Witness.

The Primordial Awareness is the one that sees the I emerge, and the I collapse. It perceives, but it cannot speak. It only grows wiser.

For e.g. If a pinch of red color is thrown into the water, the entire water bucket becomes red-colored. The recognition of the Witness collapse is the red color. That’s how the witness consciousness knows of its own collapse and can bring up the memory.

Mind is a dead thought. It is the object of Memory. It is not the subject. Witness is the subject that brings up a dead thought, labeling it as a memory.  But you can never step in a river twice. That which arises is always a new arising because the dead cannot arise.
