Be grateful for sudden losses, they make you debt-free!

Question asked in the Gurukul forum:
Someone stole a belonging, and a thought of ill will arose that this product will not have good consequences for the thief. You said that “Every pinch becomes a punch. The quality of meditation reveals the unwholesomeness.” I realized from my restless Samadhi that throwing dirt at another dirties my hands too. How to keep my inner environment pure?

Answer:
See the loss as becoming debt-free, dear. Sometimes you don’t know that you owe something to someone. And you might thus not give back because of ignorance. This causes an imbalance in Consciousness. Consciousness always seeks a balance, an equilibrium, a homeostasis, an order, or peace. That is why what you owe is somehow taken away from you.

This might happen in another way than the original. The person to whom you owe will receive something unexpectedly. This happens to you, too. Sometimes you receive something unexpectedly. What I am describing here is not unknown to you. It is your direct experience articulated in words here.

Let’s understand the mechanism. You were at a force of +100. Consciousness always seeks balance. A balance means being at a force of 0. To rebalance, there was a sudden loss, that is the force of -100. This was required to return to the balancing force of 0.

Zeroness is PEACE! At the Consciousness level, you will experience stillness. Be happy about the equilibrium attained. That is how you keep your inner environment pure and free of ill will by holding onto the stillness.

Warning – At the body-mind level, there may be chaos because of its conditioned reactions. Don’t give in to past conditioning. Remind yourself that you deserve Peace! And it has already been attained by the force of Zero. Relish it! Be grateful that what needed to go is gone. Allow the gratitude to envelop you.

Question:
I would prefer to return what I owe instead of it being forcefully taken away. How to avoid sudden losses?

Answer:
Consciousness brings about a balance at the gross physical level only after giving a warning signal at the subtle mental level. Recognize the warning. Follow it without hesitation.

If a thought arises to give, immediately take a vow, and give back as soon as possible, my dear.

If you ignore this warning signal of the thought to give back, prompted by the Consciousness, then the repossession is enforced. It’s like a bank that first sends you a warning letter to repay your debt. If you do not pay on time, they repossess your car, house, etc.

It is obvious that when something is taken away forcefully, whether it is an object, an event, or a relationship, it inevitably causes pain to the body-mind because it was holding on to it so tightly. Anyways, it is going to go away; remember that Consciousness must strike the balance.

You are Consciousness itself, not the body-mind bearing the loss. Equanimity is your nature, not the body-mind’s tendency. You are always seeking homeostasis, not the body-mind. Zeroness gives you what you have always been seeking, the balance between Rajas and Tamas. Don’t ignore your own PEACE! Give back. You are in the Waking World to give back as much as you take. It must be an equal transaction with accounts settled; otherwise, the Consciousness cannot overcome the Waking Illusion. Hence, settle the accounts for the sake of your own Enlightenment!

If there is no way to pay back someone you feel indebted to, like a deceased friend or someone who refuses to communicate with you, donate in their name.

Become debt-free from within. The burden of debt and self-blame is unbearable. Nobody else can make you feel debt-free and blameless; you have to do it for yourself. Get rid of that burden. The recent blog post spoke about the same, coincidentally – https://ektabathija.com/being-debt-free-is-essential/
